BMSCL ADMISSIONS

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

 

 5 YEAR INTEGRATED DEGREE COURSE, B.A. LL.B., B.com LL.B.

UNIVERSITY NORMS

An applicant who has successfully completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School Course ('+2') or equivalent such as (10+1, 'A' level in Senior School Leaving Certificate Course) from a recognized University/Institution of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Central or State Government/s of India or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the Government of that Country for the purpose of issue of International qualifying certificate equivalent to 10+2 on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course

The minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

 INTERNAL CRITERIA OF SELECTION

  • PERCENTAGE OF MARKS – 60% &  Above in grade 12/equivalent
  • MUST QUALIFY IN BMSCLAT
  • AGE-  18 Years & above , 20 Years & below

                                                  

Admission Procedure

 

  1. APPLICATION – Students can apply through offline/online mode once the notification is published on the website/notice board. Submitted applications will go through the short-listing process based on the merit.
  2. SHORT-LIST of APPLICATIONS- Applicants who get short-listed would receive the Call Letter for the selection process.
  3. SELECTION PROCESS- Applicants are required to go through the entrance test named BMSCLAT followed by the Personal Interview.
  4. SELECTION- Qualified applicants would receive the Offer Letter for admission. Students are required to complete the admission formalities according to the instructions prescribed in the Offer Letter.

 

 3 YEAR LL.B. COURSE

UNIVERSITY NORMS

Eligibility and Admission Procedure

Admissions to the first year of the 3-year LL.B. course, in all colleges under the jurisdiction of Karnataka State Law University, is strictly based on merit, based on the marks secured by the candidate in the qualifying examination.

To be eligible for admission in the 3-year LL.B. course, the candidate should:

Have graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for three-year degree course in law leading to the conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted under these Regulations.

Be or be less than thirty years in the case of general category of applicants and thirty-five years in the case of applicants from SC, ST, and other backward communities.

Have secured marks, which shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of general category applicants and 40% of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

3. SELECTION- Qualified applicants would receive the Offer Letter for admission. Students are required to complete the admission formalities according to the instructions prescribed in the Offer Letter.

 

Medium of Instruction

 The medium of Instruction shall be English. However, the students shall have the option to answer the question paper in the examination either in English or in Kannada.

 

Attendance

 No student shall be permitted to appear for the end-of-Semester examination in a given course unless he/she has, to the satisfaction of the course teacher, fulfilled the course requirements and has put in not less than 70% attendance in the course concerned. Provided that a student who has attended not less than 65% of classes in each subject prescribed may be permitted to keep the term for reasons to be recorded in writing and to the satisfaction of the Principal of the college.

 

 Promotion against Lateral Entry and Exit

 There shall be no lateral entry on the plea of graduation in any subject or exit by way of awarding a degree splitting the integrated double degree course, at any intermediary stage of integrated double degree course

 

 Promotion

  No student shall be promoted to the next year of the course unless he/she has passes a minimum of two subjects in each semester.

  •  Students are required to successfully complete the entire course within ten years from admission to the course(B.A.  LL.B., B.com  LL.B, 5 Year Course), within six years from admission to the course (LL.B.3 Year Course).

 

Award of Degree

 A Student shall be eligible for the award of the B.A. LL.B/ B.com LL.B/ LL.B, (Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws) Degree after he/she has successfully completed all the prescribed courses in all the Semesters and provided his or her character and conduct are found to be satisfactory during the course.

70% and more

First Class with Distinction

60% and above but less than 70%

First Class

50% and above but less than 60%

Second Class

40% and above but less than 50%

Pass Class
