The Alumni Association was initially started in 2013 and was officially registered with the Registrar of Societies in 2015. The objective is to bring the entire alumnus under one common roof, thus creating a strong network between the Alma mater and the alumnus. We are striving to encourage the alumni to take an active interest in the work and progress of the institution by establishing regular engagement between the institution and the alumni. We have planned to establish practices, to recognize outstanding social and community services rendered by the alumni, to provide career guidance to our existing students from the alumni and more.
We aim at enriching both the current diaspora and the alumnus through constant interaction and knowledge sharing.
Alumni Sessions: This program has been the main driver of the Association, with Alumni being invited and share their thoughts, knowledge, experiences or anything they like with the students. The idea is to get the students a more practical approach to life after college in universities or industries, and also to create a platform where students can attain a source of knowledge that can help their careers.
We invite all alumni to come and speak about anything that they would like. Please do contact us if you are interested.
Annual Alumni Meet: The Annual Alumni Meet brings to our alumni a chance to reconnect with their Alma Mater. It lets them relive the carefree days of their college lives as they get a chance to visit all the locations they once frequented.
“I have a special affection and regards for BMS College of Law because of the confidence that the college had reposed in its students. In 1973, when I was pursuing my LL.B. here, I couldn’t pay the fees and I had not submitted my exam application. Noticing this management asked me the reason and I said I don't have enough money to pay the fees. The management was so generous that it permitted me to pay only the examination fees exempting tuition fees. I cannot imagine any other college which would show such generosity towards its students. I am ever grateful to the Management and the College for this. Thus, I feel BMSCL offered me the best opportunity to develop skills in community interaction and development.”
“I was a student at this college between 1972 and 1975. I did my LL.B. here when Prof. V Krishnamurthy was the Principal. Sri Y Ramachandra, former Mayor of Bengaluru, was the Chairman of the college. He used to visit the college every day to ensure smooth administration and used to spend time with the students and motivate them to become lawyers. He ensured that the library was open throughout the day for the benefit of students. Prof. M D NanjundaSwamy, L G Havanur, Prof. C B Motaiah, Prof. B Venkatakrishnappa, Prof. H R Venkataramaiah, Prof. W K Joshi and Prof. A V Srinivas were our teachers. With such stalwarts as our teachers, we had no choice but to be good lawyers. Therefore I owe my professional career entirely to the BMS College of law. I am sure even now the faculty is equally good and inspire the modern day youth to take up the legal profession in a big way.”
