UGC Anti-Ragging Policy
UGC Anti-Ragging Policy
- Ragging is a criminal offence. The UGC has framed the Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions.
- The UGC Regulations are mandatory – all institutions must implement them, including the monitoring mechanism, and ensure strict compliance.
- The policy is based on the judgment of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated 8.5.2009 in Civil Appeal No. 887/2009.
- Every student and his/her parent/guardian must submit an online anti-ragging undertaking every academic year at www.antiragging.in or www.amanmovement.org.
- After submission the student receives an email from the UGC team with a registration number and web link.
- The student must share the Anti-Ragging Registration Reference Number and the email with the college.
